Really Corny at My House!

We've had our annual corn roast this summer, and today I'm freezing a bushel of corn cut off the cob. If you have the storage space and a double boiler, it's not hard to preserve a bit of summer for the cool months ahead. Saturday July 30th -- Farm-City Week will kick off at the Denver Market. We'll have a NC10% Campaign booth so you can register your support for local food. Also, Brian Rollins will have his Good Wood Pizza oven on site. Come buy a pizza and top it with local farmers market toppings!

Tuesday, August 2nd -- Farm Table Breakfast from 7am until 8:30 @ Citizens Center in Lincolnton. Business people from the farm and city networking and talking about issues of importance to all. Sponsored by Carolina Farm Credit, Lincoln County Farm Bureau, Lincoln County Apple Festival, Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. Reservations required by calling 704-736-8452.

Wednesday, August 3rd --Hmong Culture & Cooking. Der Xiong, an Extension professional and member of the local Hmong community, will discuss Hmong culture and do a cooking demonstration. Call 704-736-8462 for reservations.

Thursday, August 4th -- Field to Fork Farmers Market Dinner 6:30 to 8:00pm @ Lincoln County Farmers Market in Downtown Lincolnton. Harvest Moon Grille will be our chefs. Advanced ticket required.
